IP Aggregator or distributor is an Ethernet access equipment designed for monitoring solution. It combines the features of multiple products like: filter, aggregator, matrix switch and multiplexer. The input interfaces of the aggregator can be selected to support in-line TAP or SPAN ports solution.

The data rate of the inputs and output ports are configurable to support FE, 1GE or 10GE links. The filtering feature can filter the packets by MAC, VLAN, MPLS, IP, Port, Protocols, etc. It also have packet slicing feature which truncate jumbo packet for storage saving purpose. Some of the aggregator have timestamp feature  for latency calculation.
